🚤 Sailboats Wanted – Help Us Expand Our Fleet
South Portland Sailing Center is growing, and we're looking for a few great boats to join our teaching fleet.
We're currently seeking:
Small trailerable sailboats with large cockpits (like an S2 7.9)
35–40 ft performance-oriented boats with three cabins or ample berths (racer-cruisers preferred)
40+ ft bluewater-capable cruisers with three to four cabins for advanced liveaboard instruction
We’re open to several types of arrangements:
• Outright purchase
• Donations
• Co-ownership or vessel management — a great option if you still love your boat but aren’t using it much. With this arrangement, you retain limited access to the vessel while we handle its operation, and you’ll have the opportunity to use it in Maine during the summer and in the Florida Keys or Caribbean during the winter.

NEED AN INTERNATIONAL PROFICIENCY CERTIFICATION?
Planning a Mediterranean adventure? Ensure a smooth sailing experience with the International Proficiency Certification (IPC) from ASA. When chartering or sailing in Europe, proof of competency is often required. At our sailing school, we offer ASA courses to help you obtain the ASA IPC. Alternatively, if you already possess the necessary skills and knowledge, you can challenge the written test and on-water assessment.
